Father's Day

Since my Husband and I both have to work this Father's Day we decided we would celebrate early. I made my husband a Police car cake for Father's day. He was so surprised! Then we went to the Chop House and ate, then to his favorite store....Bass Pro Shop! It was a great day of swimming, eating, and spending time together!
Top View of the cake! "Happy Fahter's Day" was done using my Cricut Cake!
Side view. 424 is my husband's car number. Just a little added touch.

Cupcakes to welcome Braxton

Below is a picture of cupcakes we did for my baby shower in 2008! Braxton's room was decorated in turtles so we played off the colors and had green and blue cupcakes to match.

Braxton's Boo Bash

These are a sample of cupcakes that I did for the Halloween Party I do every year. I decided to do just cupcakes at this time.

These cupcakes are a mix of Chocolate and French Vanilla with buttercream icing.

Look at all those Yummy Cupcakes!

The Decorator at work! (This is an old picture!)

I even put the baker to work on this project!

A little Monkey just turned 1

These are pictures from Braxton's 1st birthday party. I made the smash cake and the cupcakes. I always called Braxton my Hunky, Chunky, Monkey so I thought is party to play off that theme.

 Smash Cake
This was my first attempt at decorating cakes!

 Monkey Cupcakes!
I apologize for the bad lighting!

Snips, Snails, & Puppy Dog Tails

During this past Spring Semester at Carson Newman College (where I am perusing my MSN-FNP) we had 3 classmates awaiting arrivals of there little boys! We as a class decided we would surprise them the last day of class with a baby shower! Here are the cupcakes I created just for them!

We had Monkeys to represent Lori and her twin boys, Noah & Lucas; we had blue to represent Jennifer and her little boy Jackson; and the yellow was for the Dad of the group Brandon, him and his wife decided their baby would be a surprise and it was a little boy, Beechump!

Getting Started

Thanks to everyone who has come to this blog. Just a little about Shortcake Custom Creations. This is a place where you can get customized cakes for any occasion! What started all this was when I was in a crunch to find a monster cake for my son's 2nd birthday. I called everyone around our little community and no one could do a custom Monster cake. So I went to searching the internet and found some  ideas and decided I would do it myself. I personally think they turned out GREAT!
My mom (Shera) is the baker! I don't think there are any cakes out there better than hers, and that homemade buttercream icing is the BEST! I (Lynz) am the decorator. I LOVE to come up with new ideas and see what I can create!
If you would like a custom cake just give me a call at (423) 489-5900 or email us at shortcakecustomcreations@gmail.com. We look forward to making your custom cake creation for your special celebration!

This is a picture of all three of the cakes and cupcakes that I created for my son's 2nd birthday.
This little guy is a three layer round cake. Two layers were chocolate and one layer was funfetti. He is covered in chocolate icing with a layer of green fondant on the outside. Everything on this little guy is edible!
This is what the inside of the cake looked like! Yummy!
This little guy is French vanilla cake (we tried to color him green so when you cut into him he looked like slim, the color was much lighter than we wanted but it tasted great!) He is covered in homemade buttercream icing and decorated with piped icing and fondant.
This is the inside of the cake above.
I wanted to do something special just for the birthday boy so I came up with this! His own personal cake! He is decorated with buttercream icing. We had left over batter so we decided to do some cupcakes too!
Here is a better view of the cupcake tree!

I think he had fun blowing out his cupcake!
